This position serves as a back-up stationary engineer on an as needed basis on shift (typically providing vacation relief). When not working as a back-up stationary engineer you will be working as a plant operator. This position will be assigned to the Solids Management Business Unit at the Metro Plant, 2400 Childs Rd., St. Paul.
Work Schedule: Treatment plants operate 24/7 year-round. This position will work a 12-hour shift (7am to 7pm -OR- 7pm to 7am) on one of the following schedules:
It is expected the initial hire will work the week-end shift. Work shifts are determined through a job bid process.
Duties of Stationary Engineer Relief
Duties as Plant Operator
Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Experience: Three years of experience operating high pressure boilers, turbines, and related equipment in an industrial setting. MUST HAVE: 1st Class Grade A state of Minnesota Boiler License; and valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
