(1st screen date is 8/31/17) JOB SUMMARY: The Department of Natural Resources and Parks is seeking a highly qualified and motivated candidate to manage the Loop® Biosolids Program within the Wastewater Treatment Division's Stewardship and Sustainable Resources (SSR) Section. This position is represented by the Technical Employees Association and reports to the Stewardship and Sustainable Resources Section Manager.Wastewater Treatment Division's (WTD) Biosolids Program consists of a team of six (6) technical and professional staff who develop customers and uses for Loop biosolids, a soil amendment that adds carbon and nutrients to soils and boosts crop growth. Recycling Loop results in significant carbon storage in the soil, advancing WTD toward its goal of carbon-neutrality. The biosolids team oversees transportation from the treatment plant to Loop customers, ensures that Loop is used correctly, develops outreach materials, and works with university researchers to evaluate practices and develop new uses.King County WTD protects water quality and public health in the central Puget Sound region by providing high quality treatment to wastewater collected from local sewer agencies. The Wastewater Treatment Division includes 600 employees across multiple facilities and serves 1.5 million people. WORK LOCATION: King Street Center, 201 South Jackson Street, Seattle, WA
WORK SCHEDULE: Currently this position works 5 days, 8 hours shifts. Applicants must be available to work any assigned schedule. This position is exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act, and is therefore not eligible for overtime pay.
