The Engineering II will prepare and review plans, specifications, estimates, and reports involving the construction, maintenance and operation of a variety of water and sanitary sewer projects to assure compliance with Public Utilities standards and city, state, and federal requirements.
Strong preference for candidates having experience in project management in CIP complex sanitary sewer and water distribution projects, design, construction and evaluating the condition and performance of the departments sanitary sewer and water distribution systems and sanitary sewer pumping stations to include: reviewing data from sanitary sewer evaluation studies (SSES)? CCTV analyses? and sanitary sewer overflow analysis, gravity sewer, force and water main, and pump station design? contract preparation and administration? should have basic understanding of hydrologic and/or hydraulic modeling? should have a basic understanding of surveying and GIS? related data management, computer skills and software knowledge in particular Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access). MINIMUMS: Requires a Bachelors Degree from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) approved engineering or engineering technology program with possession of an E.I.T. (Engineer In Training) Certificate and two (2) years of progressive professional experience; OR a Bachelors Degree from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) approved engineering technology program with possession of a Land Surveyors license and two (2) years of progressive professional experience; OR an Associates Degree in Engineering with six (6) years progressive professional experience plus possession of an E.I.T. Certification, OR a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license from the Virginia Board for Architects, Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, Certified Interior Designers and Landscape Architects (APELSCIDLA).
