Chemical Hygiene and Physical Safety Officer

The Department of Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) supports and advances the teaching, learning, and research activities of Stanford University by providing and coordinating programs and services that foster a safe and healthy campus community. We are currently seeking a Chemical Hygiene and Physical Safety Officer to support the Laboratory Safety group within EH&S.
Under minimal supervision, the Chemical Hygiene and Physical Safety Officer will perform highly technical and complex safety and health work in research and teaching laboratories in support of laboratory health and safety programs, including the institutional Chemical Hygiene Plan. He or she also develops and supports initiatives to advance a strong laboratory safety culture.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or allied field and seven to ten years of progressively responsible experience as an occupational safety and health practitioner in a research setting, including supervisory and/or mentoring experience. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
